In July 2020, Jim Kirkpatrick was named the Chief Financial Officer of Shaw Industries Group, Inc. Previously, Jim was the Vice President of Corporate Finance for Shaw. In this role, Jim directed all of the Accounting, Finance, Internal Audit and Treasury organizations. In addition, Jim had overall responsibility for Spectra Contract Flooring which is Shaw’s subsidiary engaged in selling and installing commercial floorcovering. Since joining Shaw in 1996, Jim has held several positions including Director of Contract Finance of Shaw, Treasurer of Spectra Contract Flooring and Director of Internal Audit of Shaw. In addition, he led the due diligence and integration teams that managed many of Shaw’s acquisitions. He played an integral role in the dealer acquisition and development of Spectra, which continues to be a thriving business today.
Prior to joining Shaw, Jim spent nine years Arthur Andersen, LLP as an Audit Division Manager primarily focusing on clients in the financial service, trucking, manufacturing and retail industry segments. During his time at Andersen, he was a member of the firm’s Regional Financial Services Industry Team and also spent time on special assignment in Valdez, Alaska during the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill.
Jim has previously served on the Board of Directors of the Carpet and Rug Institute as its Treasurer and on the Board of Trustees of St. Nicholas School. Jim is a CPA and a graduate of Auburn University and lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee with his wife and daughter.
